Supervision for mediators

The profession of mediator will become increasingly sought after and attractive to many professionals practicing in different areas of business.

Currently in Bulgaria a mediator certificate can be obtained after training by a mediation training organization licensed by the Ministry of Justice, such as ACADEMY MEDIATE.

But is that enough?

From our practice we are aware that the certification course for mediators gives the initial knowledge of the profession, but a true professional is only made with a lot of practice in mediation sessions in a real environment – parties facing the challenge to resolve their dispute, their lawyers, experts, interpreters, etc..

In an actual mediation session, the mediator faces many professional challenges, including and not limited to:

  • Awareness of its place in this group dynamic – parties-lawyers-possibly a judge in pending litigation-experts, etc. participants;
  • upholding high ethical standards in quite complex situations;
  • observance of strict professional discipline in the paperwork and administration of the procedure, etc.

Therefore, the team of “ACADEMY MEDIATE” offers you SUPERVISION FOR MEDIATORS – individual sessions for already trained mediators, but without any or little experience as a mediator /independent, equally distant from the disputing parties and different from the lawyers of the parties/. In these absolutely confidential sessions we could discuss the challenges you have faced as a professional mediator to help you become aware of them /self-reflection/, share cases from our extensive experience, help you become aware of your own working style and/or make a decision on an emerging and complex case from your mediation practice.

Such supervision is mandatory for practicing psychologists and we believe that this practice can be very useful for mediators as well.

Call us to discuss.

Sincerely,

Adv. Nadya Bancheva
